I NagaSita is a Temple Tribal dancer based in Nevada City CA, having just relocated from Portland Oregon where she has lived for the past 13 years. A lifelong performer with her youth spent in Hawaii dancing Kahiko with the Hula Halau gave her the perfect foundation for bellydance and an affinity for sacred interpretations through movement. Tribal bellydance became her true calling which she began practicing just after relocating to Portland Oregon and simultaneously dedicating herself to Kashmir Shaivism at the Rudrananda Ashram in 2002, where she learned ancient ritual practices from Tibet and India. She found the dance to be just as liberating as the spiritual practices of the east, and has continued on her path as a yogi, performer and priestess ever since. As one of the pioneers of ritual performance in Tribal Bellydance today, NagaSita thrives in sharing her connection with the divine feminine through dance and by creating elaborate offerings in honor of the Goddess.

*************** ABOUT DAVID J *****************

David J, is a British alternative rock musician, producer, writer, DJ and the founding member of the highly influential English postpunk band, BAUHAUS and later LOVE AND ROCKETS. David J wrote the lyrics of several Bauhaus songs, including their first single, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”. He sang backing vocals on many songs, and sang lead on “Who Killed Mr. Moonlight?” In 1985, David J, his brother Kevin Haskins, and Daniel Ash, all former members of Bauhaus, formed Love and Rockets. Playing bass guitar and sharing songwriting and vocals with guitarist Daniel Ash, David J’s most notable lead vocal from this period was the hit “No New Tale to Tell”.

David J has released a number of solo albums and singles including the first No. 1 hit single on the newly created Modern Rock Tracks charts, with “I’ll Be Your Chauffeur” in 1990. David J has also appeared on releases by Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra. He co-wrote the track “The Autumn Carnival” with Courtney Taylor-Taylor for The Dandy Warhols’ album, appeared on releases by The Jazz Butcher, Porno for Pyros and Jane’s Addiction and co-wrote the latter’s album title track, “Strays.” He has composed the scores for a number of plays and films, and has also written and directed his own plays which include Silver for Gold (The Odyssey of Edie Sedgwick), which was staged at REDCAT in Los Angeles in 2011. In that same year, David J released a new solo album that was dark cabaret-oriented, Not Long for This World, and provided bass for Voltaire’s album Riding a Black Unicorn Down the Side of an Erupting Volcano While Drinking from a Chalice Filled with the Laughter of Small Children!.

On Halloween 2013, David J in collaboration with SF based composer and pianist, Jill Tracy, released “Bela Lugosi’s Dead (Undead is Forever),” a dramatic cinematic reworking of the original Bauhaus song.

His most recent single, “The Day That David Bowie Died” entered the UK vinyl singles chart at number 4 in 2016. The track is featured on his latest double album, ‘Vagabond Songs’ (Last Hurrah records) 2017. His memoir, Who Killed Mister Moonlight? (Bauhaus, Black Magick and Benediction) was published by Jawbone Press in the winter of 2014, to critical acclaim. His artwork has been shown in galleries internationally, and David has been a resident DJ at venues such as the Knitting Factory and the Downtown Standard Hotel in Los Angeles and played in various venues across the nation and the world.

ATTRITION are pioneers in a darker electronica. Formed in 1980 in Coventry, England, influenced by a mix of punk ideology and experimental art aesthetics, they emerged as part of the early ’80’s UK Industrial scene alongside contemporaries Coil, Test Department, Legendary Pink Dots, In The Nursery, Portion Control et al, Chris & Cosey, Cabaret Voltaire and more.

Attrition through a 35 year career, fuelled by a succession of critically acclaimed albums…a selling over 100,000 to date. The band has regularly toured Europe, North America and South America, Russia and Asia, appeared at major festivals and had their music included on a number of TV and film soundtracks….

Through their career Attrition have worked with musicians as diverse as psychedelic veterans The Legendary Pink Dot’s to punk legend TV Smith to Franck Dematteis of the Paris Opera.

Attrition’s music has featured on countless releases – from 1984’s “Bullshit detector 3” on Crass records to the hugely successful “Animal liberation” album alongside Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Smiths, Nina Hagen & Lene Lovich etc…

Their song “Acid Tongue” featured on KTEL’s Industrial story CD – a who’s who of industrial music with Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, Ministry, Nitzer Ebb, Neubauten et al…

In Germany Orkus magazine’s Best of the 90’s collection featured their darkwave classic “A girl called harmony”…

Martin’s increasing studio production work at his studio, The Cage, has included mixes for The Damage Manual (Martin Atkins, Jah Wobble, Geordie Walker, Chris Connelly et al…), Die Form, In the Nursery, Black tape for a Blue girl, Mona Mur/En Esch and mastering for countless bands and labels…

He contributes synths and vocals on a song on the last Pigface album, is the narrators voice on US horror series, “C for Chaos”, has written the score to US horror film G.H.O.S.T from Mutantville productions …

Their most recent album, Millions of the Mouthless Dead (inspired by Martin’s grandfathers experiences on the Western Front in 1917) includes collaborations with Anni Hogan (known for her work with Marc Almond through the 80’s) and the legendary Wolfgang Flur (ex-Kraftwerk)…

ATTRITION are currently working on an all new album for release later in 2017

“Attrition have always been a nexus of industrial fury, gothic drama, ambient structural finesse and classical chamber orchestrations. Stunning in scope, character and intellect, Martin Bowes has been a paragon of true creative prowess, holding in two hands the past and future of music, and smashing them together with a calculated and charismatic menace. Bowes builds his dark industrial music with all the compassion and attention to detail of a classical musician…”

80s Pop Muzik and Miss Vamp Hawaii present Live Music featuring STINK EYE

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2015
Place: BAR 35 (35 N. Hotel Street, Honolulu, Hawaii)
Time: 9pm- 2am
Cover: $5 / age: 21+

Featuring Mistress of Ceremony Lana Saldania and DJ Nocturna and DJ Rhombus playing the best of the 80s and 90s. Come on down and also join us and celebrate the birthday of KTUH’s DJ Native Girl.

After the 80s came the 90s and we wouldn’t be here today without good memories of the music and the bands that made the 90s a special decade.

The 90s didn’t come too soon with techno, house, hip hop, grunge and alternative rock taking over the airwaves. Technotronic, MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice, C+C Music Factory, Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins, Sound Garden, Alice in Chains, Hole, Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Oasis, Live, CandleBox, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Tool and Nirvana are just some of the bands that defined the 90s.

As a tribute to the 90s, we invited local rockers STINK EYE to help us remember the 90s.

Before Stinkeye, there was Steppenstone, a 70’s-80’s classic rock band. Later their singer Stu, decided to change their name to Stinkeye. This was six years ago and since then they have evolved with a solid full band with current members and a female lead singer. With strong vocals, guitars, slammin’ drums and a killer bass groove, Stinkeye will be playing your favorite 80’s, 90’s and modern dance rock hits!

-Kevin Rost (drums) Stinkeye, Desert Sea, Sirens Call
-Cassie Fillhart (lead vocal, keys) Stinkeye, Erin Smith band
-Matt Mcpherson (bass) Stinkeye, Desert Sea, Erin Smith band
-Brian Mikami (guitar, vocals) Stinkeye, Desert Sea
