ALSO SPECIAL APPEARANCE BY TEMPLE TRIBAL BELLYDANCE PERFORMER NAGASITA

I NagaSita is a Temple Tribal dancer based in Nevada City CA, having just relocated from Portland Oregon where she has lived for the past 13 years. A lifelong performer with her youth spent in Hawaii dancing Kahiko with the Hula Halau gave her the perfect foundation for bellydance and an affinity for sacred interpretations through movement. Tribal bellydance became her true calling which she began practicing just after relocating to Portland Oregon and simultaneously dedicating herself to Kashmir Shaivism at the Rudrananda Ashram in 2002, where she learned ancient ritual practices from Tibet and India. She found the dance to be just as liberating as the spiritual practices of the east, and has continued on her path as a yogi, performer and priestess ever since. As one of the pioneers of ritual performance in Tribal Bellydance today, NagaSita thrives in sharing her connection with the divine feminine through dance and by creating elaborate offerings in honor of the Goddess.

*************** ABOUT DAVID J *****************

David J, is a British alternative rock musician, producer, writer, DJ and the founding member of the highly influential English postpunk band, BAUHAUS and later LOVE AND ROCKETS. David J wrote the lyrics of several Bauhaus songs, including their first single, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”. He sang backing vocals on many songs, and sang lead on “Who Killed Mr. Moonlight?” In 1985, David J, his brother Kevin Haskins, and Daniel Ash, all former members of Bauhaus, formed Love and Rockets. Playing bass guitar and sharing songwriting and vocals with guitarist Daniel Ash, David J’s most notable lead vocal from this period was the hit “No New Tale to Tell”.

David J has released a number of solo albums and singles including the first No. 1 hit single on the newly created Modern Rock Tracks charts, with “I’ll Be Your Chauffeur” in 1990. David J has also appeared on releases by Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra. He co-wrote the track “The Autumn Carnival” with Courtney Taylor-Taylor for The Dandy Warhols’ album, appeared on releases by The Jazz Butcher, Porno for Pyros and Jane’s Addiction and co-wrote the latter’s album title track, “Strays.” He has composed the scores for a number of plays and films, and has also written and directed his own plays which include Silver for Gold (The Odyssey of Edie Sedgwick), which was staged at REDCAT in Los Angeles in 2011. In that same year, David J released a new solo album that was dark cabaret-oriented, Not Long for This World, and provided bass for Voltaire’s album Riding a Black Unicorn Down the Side of an Erupting Volcano While Drinking from a Chalice Filled with the Laughter of Small Children!.

On Halloween 2013, David J in collaboration with SF based composer and pianist, Jill Tracy, released “Bela Lugosi’s Dead (Undead is Forever),” a dramatic cinematic reworking of the original Bauhaus song.

His most recent single, “The Day That David Bowie Died” entered the UK vinyl singles chart at number 4 in 2016. The track is featured on his latest double album, ‘Vagabond Songs’ (Last Hurrah records) 2017. His memoir, Who Killed Mister Moonlight? (Bauhaus, Black Magick and Benediction) was published by Jawbone Press in the winter of 2014, to critical acclaim. His artwork has been shown in galleries internationally, and David has been a resident DJ at venues such as the Knitting Factory and the Downtown Standard Hotel in Los Angeles and played in various venues across the nation and the world.
